Frequently asked questions
Food Allergy Information
Food Allergy Information
At Prairie Sourdough Co., I believe in being transparent about how and where your bread is made. While everything is crafted with care, precision, and strict cleaning practices, my microbakery operates out of a regular home kitchen â which means it is not allergen-free.
Allergen Information
My kitchen may contain or come into contact with:
Peanuts
Tree nuts
Wheat
Gluten (all products contain gluten)
Dairy
Eggs
Sesame
Soy
Although surfaces, tools, and equipment are cleaned and sanitized before every bake, cross-contact cannot be completely eliminated. Because of this, my products are not suitable for individuals with severe or life-threatening food allergies.
A Note About Pets
Yes â I have pets in the home. No â they are not in the kitchen during baking, cooling, packaging, or any food-related prep.
When I bake for orders, the kitchen becomes a closed, controlled workspace. Pets are fully removed from the area, surfaces are sanitized beforehand, and tools are handled with strict hygiene in mind. Still, because pets live in the home, I cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment.
Your Safety Matters
If you or someone in your household has allergies or dietary concerns, I encourage you to reach out before ordering. Iâm always happy to answer questions about ingredients, sourcing, or preparation so you can make the safest and most informed choice.
Prairie Sourdough Co. is built on honesty, quality, and community â and that includes being crystal-clear about allergens and household factors.
Do you bake in a certified commercial kitchen?
I bake in a home-based microbakery that follows Alberta Health Services low-risk guidelines. My workspace is clean, organized, and carefully controlled to ensure safe, high-quality products. Please note, it is not an allergen-free environment.
When will I get my order?
I bake fresh every week. Place and pay for your order through the website by Wednesday at 12 PM, and your goodies will be ready for no-contact porch pickup on that Saturday. Fresh, delicious, and zero awkward small talk required đ
Refund/Return Policy
At Prairie Sourdough Co., I take pride in handcrafting every loaf and baked good with care. Because each item is freshly made to order, all sales are final. I cannot accept returns or offer refunds for perishable baked goods once they leave the bakery.
However, your satisfaction is very important to me! If thereâs an issue with your orderâsuch as a product arriving damaged, missing, or not as describedâplease contact me within 12 hours of pickup or delivery. Iâll work with you to resolve the problem, whether thatâs offering a replacement for your order, store credit, or another solution that makes it right.
How does the microbakery work? Can I pick up bread in person? How do I order?
Prairie Sourdough Co. is a home-based microbakery, which means I bake small batches of fresh bread and goodies just for you. Orders are made to requestâno walk-ins or ready-made loaves on the counter. To get your hands on my baked goods, simply place and pay for your order through this website by the weekly cutoff (Wednesday at 12 PM). Then, pick up your order on Saturday between 10 am to 3 pm @ 40 Wapiti Drive in Devon, Alberta or choose delivery if available. If you place your order after Wed at 12 pm then your order will be in que for the following Saturday
